Everything I Do, I Do it For YOU . . . . .

This morning I was at the gym doing my workouts.   in the background was the sound of the radio blasting through the speakers.   The radio was as always tuned to the popular station which features the latest and famous songs.   Now most of the songs played here are the typical 'cool' songs featuring loud music with vulgar and double meaning words.  We would never imagine songs like these 10 years ago.   But times have changed and things like these are sadly becoming more and more acceptable in today's modern society.

Back to my story, this morning during the broadcast, the presenter announced that the next song was the one sung by Bryan Adams from the movie 'Prince of Thieves' which was called 'Everything i do, I do it for you'.  He said the video of this song on YouTube had at least 53 million views on it.

When he mentioned this, I had a feeling of sadness in my heart.   So many people liking that song which primarily was about the love the singer had for another human being.    Would we have the same love for our heavenly father and be able to tell him that ever thing we do, we will do it for Him.   But just telling or singing this would not be enough, are we ready to put Him first place in our lives.   It is easy for us to go to Him and obey Him when our lives are messed up and we want Him to help us.   But what about the times, when things are going on well.   In such times would we still tell Him that all we do, we will do them for Him ?

One of my most favourite verse is in Psalms 37, verse 8.  This says - 'Delight yourself in the Lord and he will give you the desires of your heart.'     How do you delight yourself in the Lord ?  By keeping Him first place.  By standing on His promises, by depending on His word and by trusting him in all things, whatever the circumstances.

Friends, if a human being can attract so much love from another to sing 'Everything I do I do it for you', how much more must we who believe in His mighty grace and mercy be able to sing out and cry out to Him, exalting His name proclaiming that everything we do we do it for Him, for his glory and for His honour.
