Jesus . . .
What a beautiful name – Jesus ! The name brings up a picture of a man performing
miracles, speaking to large groups of people, healing the sick and dying, calming the storms, carrying the cross,
being nailed to the cross, dying on the cross and rising from the dead.
But Jesus is more than the above. He is our saviour. He is our deliverer. He is
our redeemer. He paid the ultimate price so that we could be saved. He bore the pain and suffering on the cross so
we could be set free.

The Innocent One
Most of the time, we in our material world today completely overlook what Jesus
did for us. He came on earth just like any other human being. He also experienced hunger, pain like you and me. Can
you imagine what must be going on in His mind when He was hanging on the cross with nails through his hands. Is
this something that you and me would have been able to bear. What can be worse than suffering like this for
something He had not even done. He was the innocent one in this whole scenarios. The innocent lamb who was
sacrificed for us undeserving ones.
Remembering the Sacrifice
It is true that this happened much before you and me were even born, but by dying
on the cross Jesus cleansed us from all our sins. He stood between us and the judgement of God. Can any of us
afford to forget this ? We need to take out some time from our daily ‘busy’ schedule and spend it on recollecting
the sacrifice of Jesus. Yes, it will make you shiver, it will make you uncomfortable, it will make you sad, it will
bring tears to your eyes. It will make some of us burst out crying. This will confirm that you have acknowledges
the sacrifice of Jesus for your sake. You will find a peace within you that you never felt before. You will ask for
forgiveness for your sins. When you have repented for your sins, then only God will be able to work in your life
and believe me it does happen. This is my experience, when I cried out asking forgiveness for my sins, I felt an
inner peace and comfort. There is nothing more comforting and soothing than the presence of God. Your life will
change. Give this a try. Take some time out, go to a private area, kneel down and start recollecting the time when
Christ was beaten, insulted, whipped, nailed, hung. Thank him for the supreme sacrifice He made for you. Tell Him
He did not deserve to die like that for your sake.
